ABOUT

ARTIST STATEMENT

“I am Echo (Zina Shahi), an artist and data scientist working where emotion meets algorithm. My practice merges handcrafted masks, jewelry, and symbolic watercolor and acrylic paintings with AI-driven storytelling to explore identity, transformation, and the shifting connection between humans and machines.

I create masks and jewelry as ritual objects, paintings as surreal narratives, and Decode AI as a platform to share philosophical reflections about art and technology. The recurring orange-haired protagonist and my ornate masks — adorned with pearls, embroidery, and circuitry — embody both concealment and revelation, fragility and resilience. At the heart of my work lies one question: What if AI could feel?

Each piece becomes a bridge between tradition and innovation, between emotion and code, between the seen and the unseen. Through this dialogue, I seek to create spaces of wonder, melancholy, and empowerment, where art becomes a mirror for our evolving human story in the age of intelligent machines.
